This is the winning line of the song Hand in Hand by Julia Ynish Doctor Dichoso, a fourth year Architecture student, that made her reach the fourth spot of #MoveOnLang Collegiate Nationwide Song Writing Competition finals night last February 2, 2017 at Hardrock Café, Makati City.
Organized by Pioneer Life Insurance Manila in partnership with Filipino Society of Authors, Composers and Publisher, Inc. (FILSCAP) and ABS-CBN’s One Music Ph., the competition seeks to discover new Original Pinoy Music (OPM) from young talented singer song writers of various State Colleges and Universities (SUCs) around the Philippines anchored on the theme of resiliency, moving -on and bouncing on setbacks.
From over 150 entries nationwide, Dichoso was proclaimed as fourth finalist. Her song was also awarded as ‘Online Favorite’ through votes coming from her family, fellow SSCians and friends.
“I believe that I reached peoples’ heart through the song’s message. It represents a person’s will to move on with the help of the people they love. And most importantly, it was a song dedicated to God – with God, anyone can do things beyond reach,” Dichoso said in her interview with The Artificer.
The judges of the competition included FILSCAP President Rico Blanco, FILSCAP Chairman Arturo Lui Pio, FILSCAP Trustee Noel Cabangon, Pioneer Life Inc. President Lorenzo Chan Jr. and One Music PH Editor-In-Chief Joy Mesina.
