Officers of the major and minor student organizations of the college, together with the Director of Student Services Dr. Minerva Hubilla, participate and support the anti-drug campaign of the provincial government.



Sorsogon State College students participated in the provincial Anti – Drug Summit 2016 with the theme, ‘Kabataang Sorsoganons Kontra Droga’ last December 14, 2016 at the Sorsogon Provincial Gymnasium, Sorsogon City.

Mr. Edgar C Balasta, CCDI Administrator, welcomed students from different schools and stressed the need of empowering the youth through raising awareness on illegal drugs. “We won’t stop until each one of you would develop abhorrence against drugs,” Balasta said in his opening remarks. Moreover, Police Senior Supt. Ronaldo Cabral called out the youth’s all out support on the Kasurog Kontra Droga Regional Alliance and its anti-illegal drugs campaign program.

Furthermore, Attorney Renato Olbes, representative of Gov. Bobet Lee Rodrigueza, reminds youth participants regarding the long term effect of drug use. The anti-drug summit was conducted in cooperation with the Pulis Kasanggayahan and the students from different secondary and tertiary schools in Sorsogon.
