As of May 2015, the Office of Research and Development Services (ORDS) accomplished the following:
- 1st bi-annual in-house review of 19 completed, on-going and proposed projects;
- 1 international and 6 national research paper presentations;
- Evaluation of 7 project proposals;
- 4 publications in research journals (REDTI, Intersection, IAMURE and JPAIR).
A new director has also taken the place of Dr. Magdalena Ocbian, now the SSC Vice-President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Ryan V. Dio is an experienced math faculty of the Teacher Education department and graduate school, a seasoned researcher, and also the former student services coordinator of the Sorsogon City campus before he assumed the office this April. A seminar-workshop for peer reviewers, editors and researchers on technical writing of scientific articles is also scheduled this June 10-11. This is the R & D office’s initial preparation for the evaluation of the SSC research journal by CHED and other accrediting agencies.
